Dogs 30+ pounds available for special low-cost adoption rate April 30 to May 31

In honor of "National Adopt a Shelter Pet Day" on April 30, the Mission Viejo Animal Services Center is hosting a special adoption promotion on large dogs that runs through May.

The national designation promotes awareness of the many pets in shelters waiting for forever homes. Although the Mission Viejo Animal Services Center has a good adoption rate, the center is taking the opportunity to spotlight the dogs that have been waiting for weeks and sometimes months to be adopted.

Some dogs are overlooked because they are too active in their kennels; are not the right color; or are too large for some families. These dogs make great pets but are often ignored by adopters seeking smaller canines. Because of this, from April 30 to May 31, all dogs 30 pounds and over will be offered for a $20 adoption fee.
