KRISPY KREME® Celebrates Grand Opening of New Shop in Washington D.C.’s Columbia Heights Neighborhood on Feb. 23

WINSTON SALEM, N.C. (Feb. 16, 2021) - Washington D.C. residents, commuters and tourists will celebrate the opening of a new Krispy Kreme shop in the nation's capital on Tuesday, Feb. 23. The first fresh shop in Washington D.C., at 3100 14th Street NW #102 in the Columbia Heights neighborhood, is a few miles from the National Mall and other key government buildings and national monuments.

"Washington D.C. locals and visitors will soon be treated to the world's most delicious doughnuts and an unforgettable doughnut experience. We look forward to making this new shop a staple in the Columbia Heights community," said Abenaa Nkrumah, Krispy Kreme District Manager.

Throughout grand opening week, Krispy Kreme will award 10 dozen lucky individuals a celebration ticket. Winners will be selected at random and receive a ticket worth a dozen free Original Glazed® doughnuts per week throughout the year The Columbia Heights shop will be open seven days a week: Sunday through Thursday, 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Friday and Saturday, 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Krispy Kreme continues to put the well-being of its customers and team members first by complying with government and health-related guidelines to enable doughnuts to be enjoyed safely. Columbia Heights guests can purchase doughnuts via in-shop takeout or by ordering doughnuts online or through the Krispy Kreme app for pick-up or delivery. The shop employs 30 new team members and managers from the Northwest Washington D.C. community.
