Suspect Arrested for Homicide

Denver - Wednesday, April 17, 2023 - The Denver Police Department announces the arrest of a suspect related to the homicide that occurred on March 29, 2024. On March 29, 2024, at approximately 6:50 a.m., Denver Police officers responded to the 1600 block of South Federal Boulevard regarding a shooting that occurred. When officers responded, they located an adult male victim, later identified as 35-year-old Luis Gómez Reyes, suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was pronounced deceased on scene.

Investigators worked diligently and identified the suspect as Francisco Ivan Romero (DOB 06/25/1972). With the assistance of law enforcement in Arizona, Romero was arrested yesterday. He will be held for investigation of First-Degree Murder.

The Denver District Attorney's office will make the final determination of charges.

The arrest affidavit for Romero is sealed and is currently not available for release.
