NSPE Brings Women in STEM Caucus to DiscoverE Event

NSPE's Government Relations team, working with the Congressional Women in STEM Caucus, has gained the caucus's high-profile support for and participation in the upcoming DiscoverE's Women in Engineering event. The virtual gathering will be Wednesday, June 23, at 12:00 p.m. ET.

Each year, NSPE-affiliated DiscoverE hosts an event on Capitol Hill that encourages girls to pursue and stick with careers in engineering. Historically, the events have been cohosted by two congressional representatives-one Republican and one Democrat. This year, however, NSPE's Government Relations team approached staffers from Rep. Chrissy Houlahan's office, who agreed that the event would be a great fit for the Women in STEM Caucus, of which Houlahan (D-PA), is a cochair. After a few weeks of conversations, the caucus cochairs agreed to make this year's event a collaboration between DiscoverE and the caucus.

The Government Relations team is grateful for the caucus's support and excited that all four caucus cochairs will give remarks at the event.

It's not too late to register for this year's event, 'Imagining Tomorrow: A Conversation About the Importance of Women Persisting in Engineering.' If you're interested in attending this virtual event, you can register here .
