The City of Morro Bay will commence construction work for the Morro Bay Parking Lot Rehabilitation project in the first week of April. The project addresses the deteriorating asphalt concrete surfaces and accessibility deficiencies seen in Lila Keiser Park and safety issues of the Police Department's parking lot. The contractor will perform extensive asphalt removal and replacement, concrete installations, and placement of new pavement markings and striping.

Lila Keiser Park will remain open during construction activities. Although there may be moments during construction when the parking lot accessibility is temporarily affected, measures have been put in place to ensure that field use remains uninterrupted.

Ramsey Asphalt Construction Corp. was awarded the contract by City Council on January 11, 2024. A Notice to Proceed was issued by the City for March 29, 2024, and the contractor is required to complete the work barring any extensions within 60 working days. The anticipated end date is June 25, 2024.
