Resurfacing Operations Scheduled Next Week on Several State Highways in Philadelphia Region

King of Prussia, PA- The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that resurfacing operations are scheduled on several state highways in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties under multiple ongoing projects to repair and pave more than 200 miles of state highway across the Philadelphia region.

Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:

Bucks County

  • Monday, May 13, through Friday, May 31, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, weekday periodic lane closures are scheduled on Worthington Mill Road between Route 232 (Second Street Pike) and Swamp Roadin Wrightstown & Northampton Townships for milling and paving.

Chester County

  • Sunday, May 12, through Thursday, May 16, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Route 796 (Jennersville Road) between Route 896 (Newark Road) and Route 41 (Gap Newport Pike)in New London, Penn, and Londonderry townships for paving.
  • Sunday, May 12, through Thursday, May 16, from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Route 340 (West Kings Highway) between the Lancaster County line and Compass Roadin West Caln Township for milling and paving.
  • Sunday, May 12, through Thursday, May 16, from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Wagontown Road between Manor Road and the West Caln Township linein Valley Township for milling and paving.
  • Sunday, May 12, through Thursday, May 16, from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Caln Road/Reeceville Road between Business U.S. 30 (Lincoln Highway) and Fisherville Road in Caln Township for milling and paving.
  • Sunday, May 12, through Thursday, May 16, from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Creek Road between Lewis Mill Road and Route 82 (Manor Road)in West Nantmeal Township for milling and paving.

Delaware County

  • Sunday, May 12, through Tuesday, May 14, from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Thompson Avenue between Baltimore Pike and Route 320 (Sproul Road)in Springfield Township for paving.
  • Sunday, May 12, through Tuesday, May 14, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on South Avenue between U.S. 13 (Chester Pike) and Franklin Avenuein Glenolden Borough and Ridley Township for paving.
  • Tuesday, May 14, through Friday, May 17, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Wallingford Avenue between Manchester Avenue and Route 252 (Providence Road)in Nether Providence Township for utility adjustments, milling, and paving.
  • Wednesday, May 15, through Friday, May 17, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Victory Avenue between Route 3 (West Chester Pike) and the Victory Avenue Bridge over Cobbs Creekin Upper Darby Township for utility adjustments, milling, and paving.
  • Thursday, May 16, and Friday, May 17, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Cedar Grove Road between Route 252 (Newtown Street Road) and Route 320 (Sproul Road)in Marple and Newtown townships for utility adjustments, milling, and paving.

Montgomery County

  • Monday, May 13, through Friday, May 17, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Joshua Road/Lafayette Avenue between Stenton Avenue and Morris Roadin Whitemarsh Township for milling and paving.
  • Monday, May 13, through Friday, May 17, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Stenton Avenue/Penllyn Blue Bell Pike between the Norfolk Southern railroad bridge and Route 73 (Skippack Pike)in Whitpain and Whitemarsh townships for milling and paving.
  • Monday, May 13, through Friday, May 17, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled in both directions on Bethlehem Pike between Valley Green Road and Route 73 (Church Road)in Whitemarsh Township for milling and paving.
  • Monday, May 13, through Friday, May 17, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on Barren Hill Road between Ridge Pike and Hector Roadin Whitemarsh Township for tar sealing.
  • Monday, May 13, through Friday, May 17, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on Upper Ridge Road between Route 29 (Gravel Pike) and the Bucks County line in Green Lane Borough and Marlborough Township for tar sealing.
  • Monday, May 13, through Friday, May 17, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled at the Bala Avenue and U.S. 1 (City Avenue) Intersectionin Lower Merion Township for utility adjustment.

Philadelphia

  • Monday, May 13, through Friday, May 17, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on Walnut Street between 33rd Street and 63rd Street (Cobbs Creek Parkway)for line striping.
  • Monday, May 13, through Friday, May 17, from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Aramingo Avenue between York Street and Wheatsheaf Lanefor line striping.
  • Monday, May 13, through Friday, May 17, from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Castor Avenue between U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Boulevard) and Richmond Streetfor line striping.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because slowdowns will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

Under these resurfacing and improvement projects, PennDOT's contractors are repairing, milling, and repaving state highways with new asphalt pavement that will seal roadways and provide motorists with a safer and smoother riding surface.
