Ambassador Balayan's visit to the Howest University of Applied Sciences in Bruges

On April 25, Ambassador Tigran Balayan visited the Howest University of Applied Sciences in Bruges.

The visit started with a detailed presentation of the University's educational program by the professorial staff and researchers, and then followed by the discussions by the research center representatives about the results of their activities and current projects. A number of innovations and research results were also presented to the Ambassador's attention.

In the afternoon, Ambassador Balayan also met with the Rector of the University, Lode De Geyter, and during the meeting he mentioned the possibility of further cooperation with the Ministry of High-Tech Industry of Armenia and relevant universities, by organizing joint lectures, research programs, laboratory works, training programs, etc. Moreover, the Ambassador talked about Armenia's registered success in the IT sector, presenting TUMO Center for Creative Technologies and its international recognition, as well as Armat Engineering Laboratory.

Rector De Geyter responded positively to Ambassador Balayan's proposals, and eventually a concrete agreement was reached on further partnership.

It should be noted that the university prepares specialists in cyber security, artificial intelligence, computer sciences, information technologies, business management, industrial safety and a number of other fields.
