Homicide Investigation

ANAHEIM, Calif. (May 25, 2024) - Anaheim Police Detectives are conducting a homicide investigation after a man was shot and killed in a liquor store parking lot.

On Friday, May 24, 2024, at 7 p.m., Anaheim Police Dispatch received a report of a shooting on the 900 block of S. Anaheim Blvd. Anaheim Police Officers and personnel from Anaheim Fire & Rescue responded to the scene and located a 38-year-old Anaheim man, Jesse Barragan, unresponsive in a liquor store parking lot. Barragan was suffering from at least one (1) gunshot wound and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Detectives believe the shooting was gang-related and are not disclosing any additional details at this time because the investigation is ongoing.
