Nine local students earn $2,000 scholarships from annual Mayor’s Golf Tournament

The Nampa Golf Commission awarded $18,000 in scholarships to nine college-bound students thanks to several local sponsors, 21 hole sponsors and 32 teams participating in the 22nd Annual Mayor's Golf Tournament. The event raises money for summer youth golf programs in Nampa, Mayor's Teen Council and provides scholarships to high school senior golf students.

The following high school seniors received $2,000 scholarships:

  • Alivia Cleaver - Nampa High School
  • Brandy Dion - Columbia High School
  • Mercedes Folk - Nampa Christian High School
  • Wyatt Gordon - Nampa Christian High School
  • Andrew Hazen - Skyview High School
  • Jordyn Horak - Skyview High School
  • Ryker Lacy - Nampa Christian High School
  • Susanna Potter - Skyview High School
  • Donovan Wiles - Nampa Christian High School

Major tournament sponsors were: CapEd Credit Union, ­­­­­Texas Roadhouse, Republic Services and International Minute Press.

The Nampa Mayor's Golf Tournament has raised over $265,000 for scholarships and youth golf programs during the 22 years it has been held. Current members of the Nampa Golf Commission are Todd Durbin, June York, Steve Wilson, Fred Sutton, Bob Nash, Neal Murphy and Jim Kile.
