New elected member role appointed to support our creative strategy

A new, elected member role to champion the borough's recently-agreed creative strategy has been established.

Cllr Caroline Clapper, elected councillor for Aldenham West ward, who is passionate about supporting, promoting and growing creativity and cultural opportunities across the borough, has been appointed to the role by the Leader of the Council, Cllr Jeremy Newmark.

Cllr Newmark explained: "I'm delighted that Caroline has agreed to take on this new role of member champion for our creative strategy.

"Caroline brings a wealth of knowledge, experience and valuable connections and a track record that will help us deliver our wide-ranging aspirations to support the creative sector in all its many and wonderfully diverse forms in Hertsmere. This appointment comes at an incredibly exciting time for our local creative industries."

Cllr Caroline Clapper added: "I'll strive to do everything I can to support the council's efforts in supporting our creative industries and the voluntary sector which also does so much to encourage all our communities to harness opportunities to participate, explore and develop new skills and talents."
