4 CSCEC-built projects win 2023 China Construction Engineering Luban Prize for overseas projects

4 CSCEC-built projects have been honored with the 2023 China Construction Engineering Luban Prize for overseas projects: the Morodok Techo National Stadium, the Sabah AlSalem University City of Kuwait University, Algeria North-South Highway, and the Hong Kong Palace Museum.

Morodok Techo National Stadium

Resembling a giant ship, the project is located in the outskirts of Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia. Combining elements of ancient architectural ridges, the structure has a total area of approximately 82,400 square meters. It is a super-large stadium capable of accommodating 60,000 spectators. In May 2023, the 32nd Southeast Asian Games were grandly held here.

Sabah AlSalem University City of Kuwait University

The project covers a total area of 6 million square meters and provides teaching facilities for 40,000 university students. Among them, the management facilities include 7 buildings with special shapes, such as University Administration Building, Cultural Center, Ceremony Hall, Conference Center, Library and Visitor Center. As the main gateway to the new campus, these structures serve as landmark buildings within the Sabah AlSalem University City of Kuwait University.

Algeria North-South Highway

The project provides direct access to the hinterland of Central Africa, traversing the north-south traffic artery of Algeria and contributing to the development of Algeria and the entire African continent.

Hong Kong Palace Museum

As a cultural landmark in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, the project is located in the West Kowloon Cultural District on the bank of Victoria Harbour in Hong Kong. the project has a floor area of about 17,000 square meters and a total construction area of about 43,000 square meters. The main body of the museum is a 7-floor-high building in the unique shape of a ding. It is the first cooperative project for the Palace Museum in Beijing outside mainland China, becoming a new landmark for cultural exchanges between the East and West in Hong Kong.
