Stanfield Cutoff Parking Lot reopened to vehicular access on April 1, 2024

Stanfield Cutoff Parking Lot reopened to vehicular access on April 1st. The adjacent Stanfield Marsh Boardwalk is a great place to take a leisurely stroll and enjoy incredible views of the lake as well as the Marsh Wildlife and Waterfowl Preserve, which offers refuge to Big Bear's avian population.⁠ The Annual closure of this lot from December 1st to April 1st is mandated by the permit issued by the US Department of Fish and Wildlife to the Municipal Water Department for the operation of the lake and the adjacent preserve, which includes an eagle habitat. ⁠
