Metro Parks' Centennial Art Center presents its annual international artists exhibit 'Get Cultured' September 16, 2021

Nashville, TN --- Centennial Art Center's annual international exhibit, Get Cultured celebrates Nashville's diversity. This exhibit is now included in Nashville's premier cultural festival Celebrate Nashville which takes place Saturday, October 2, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. in Centennial Park. This vibrant, multicultural festival offers free family fun and an authentic look at the customs and traditions of the many cultures within the Nashville community. Centennial Art Center joins Celebrate Nashville Cultural Festival in its goal to foster diversity in the city and middle Tennessee. This year's Get Cultured art exhibit provides an eye-catching display of paintings, batik, ceramics, fiber art, mixed-media art, and pen and ink. Get Cultured is open all day (10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.) during the Celebrate Nashville Cultural Festival with an artist reception from 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. The exhibit will continue to be on display through November 18, 2021.

Centennial Art Center is excited to host 9 artists from 8 different countries this year: Margaret Hartge (fiber art, Norway), Radha Kirtane (Batik and painting, India) Vijay Makrandi (painting, India), Voymir Mustapich (painting, Croatia), Valentina Harper (mixed-media, pen and ink, Venezuela), Aracely Landa Arellano (painting, Mexico), Shalini Gupta (painting, batik and mixed-media, India), Alejandro Gonzalez Labrada (ceramics, Cuba), Voymir Mustapich (painting, Croatia), Jana Rohlickova (ceramics, Czech Republic) and Nadine Shillingford (charcoal drawings, The Commonwealth of Dominica).

This exhibit provides the public with a unique opportunity to engage with the artists, hear their stories and learn how their diverse cultural backgrounds influence their artwork. At the festival in the front of the park, gallery visitors can sample international dishes from many cultures, enjoy live music and dance performances. The reception will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Centennial Art Center located at 301 25th Avenue North in the northeast corner of Nashville's Centennial Park. Enjoy a day of art and diversity at the Get Cultured exhibit and the Celebrate Nashville Cultural Festival.

Centennial Art Center Gallery is free and open to the public. The exhibit is open October 2 through November 18, 2021
