There is still chance to join a University of Salford campaign to help on the road to Net Zero.

Charity Friends of Energy House 2.0 has been working for the last year to raise awareness and create impact, and the initiative is extending a final invitation to organisations, individuals, and prospective partners to support it.

The Friends of Energy House 2.0 program serves as a beacon of collaboration and commitment to accelerating our journey towards a sustainable future. With a minimum donation of £10,000, you can join a community of like-minded people dedicated to making a tangible difference in our environment. This year's campaign is drawing to a close, but there is still a chance to become a pivotal part of our mission towards achieving net-zero.

This year, the focus is on three key areas where your support can truly make an impact:

1. Developing a Talent Pipeline: To bridge the skills gap and ensure a sustainable workforce for the future, we're investing in scholarships and educational initiatives. By supporting students from undergraduate to PhD level, we aim to cultivate the next generation of leaders in sustainable construction and engineering.

2. Expanding the Impact Fund: Through our funded outreach programs, we're reaching communities in Salford and Greater Manchester with engaging initiatives on sustainability, climate change, and energy efficiency. Your contribution will help us extend our reach and create meaningful change where it's needed most.

3. Researching Fuel Poverty: Tackling fuel poverty is an important aspect of our mission. With your support, we can fund vital research and accompanying events aimed at addressing this pressing issue, impacting millions of households across the UK.

Richard Fitton, Professor of Building Performance at the University of Salford, said: "The team at Energy House Labs are passionate about making a difference and the establishment of the impact fund was part of this mission.

"Our work in both Energy House and Energy House 2.0 supports issues such as net zero and cost of living in our everyday lives, we also wanted to find new ways to support the local community in sustainability issues, better link with schools and colleges and address access to education.
