Register for June 28 Bike to Work Day

Ditch your vehicle, grab your bike and take part in Bike to Work Day, which is happening Wednesday, June 28. This year's theme is Joyride!, focusing on how Bike to Work Day is an opportunity to try a new way to get around-whether to work or elsewhere-and reduce traffic congestion, improve air quality and better your health.

Bike to Work Day is presented by Way to Go-a program of the Denver Regional Council of Governments. Register now at BikeToWorkDay.co to be entered into a drawing for an e-bike, among other prizes.

The city is participating this year by hosting a breakfast station on the High Line Canal near the trail underpass on the west side of Chambers Road, just northeast of the Aurora Municipal Center. Stop by on your bike for a free beverage and breakfast burrito (sponsored by Bicycle Aurora) from 6:30 to 9 a.m.

Also in Aurora, breakfast stations will be available from 6 to 9 a.m. on the Anschutz Medical Campus in front of the Fitzsimons Building on the grass oval; from 6:30 to 9 a.m. at Stanley Marketplace, 2501 Dallas St., hosted by Northeast Transportation Connections; and from 6:30 to 10 a.m. at 10255 E. 25th Ave., hosted by Hardt Family Cyclery, Glissade Coffee Company, Sand Creek Regional Greenway and Northeast Transportation Connections.

Whether you are working in the office, working in the field, working remotely or just running errands that day, make June 28 the day when you take two wheels instead of four. Combining the ride with public transit or parking your car closer to work and biking the rest of the way makes participation even easier.
