With the candidate field set for Scottsdale's July 30 primary election, voters should take note of important deadlines coming soon.

The voter registration deadline for the primary election is July 1. Early voting begins July 3. The last day to request an early ballot is July 19. Early ballots should be mailed back no later than July 23; however, you may vote early in person through July 26.

In Scottsdale, three candidates are vying for mayor and nine candidates for three open City Council seats.

Mayoral candidates:

  • Lisa Borowsky
  • Linda Milhaven
  • David "Dave" Ortega

City Council candidates:

  • Tammy Caputi
  • Stephen H. Casares
  • Jan Dubauskas
  • Tom Durham
  • Mason Gates
  • Adam Kwasman
  • Justin Laos
  • Robert "Bob" Lettieri
  • Maryann McAllen

If no candidate gets a majority of the votes cast for their office, the two mayoral candidates and the six council candidates who received the most votes will advance to the Nov. 5 general election.
