Indiana, PA - The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) District 10 is announcing upcoming secondary road work in Armstrong County starting today, May 13, 2024.

May 13 through the end of September, mill and fill patching, paving and resurfacing to various routes and other miscellaneous construction will be performed on multiple secondary routes in Armstrong County.

Work will be Monday through Friday during daylight hours. Work is weather dependent.

Upcoming routes include the following:

  • Route 2028 (Cochrans Mills) in Burrell and Bethel Townships: May 13 through 14. A Red Arrow Detour will be in place using Route 2025 South to Route 2034 West to Route 2034 (Alternate Route 66) North back onto Route 2028. The road will be open only to local traffic.
  • Route 2005 (Margaret Road) in Plum Creek and Cowanshannock Townships: May 13 through 17. There will be a single lane restriction with flaggers.

This is the continuation of a 2-year, $10 million investment in the secondary road infrastructure of Armstrong County advocated by Senator Pittman. The State Routes include 37.7 miles in Burrell, Kittanning, Manor, Plum Creek, South Bend and Bethel Townships.

Derry Construction Company, Inc., of Latrobe is completing this $6.4 million project, including $5.2 million for the roads mentioned and $1.2 million for base repair patching on other state highways in east central Armstrong County.
