Benefits of May Calving First Stop for 2024 SDFB Summer Event Series

South Dakota Farm Bureau (SDFB) and county Farm Bureaus are hosting a series of events across the state as part of its Summer Event Series. The series includes various activities that county members organize in Farm Bureau districts.

This series aims to provide farmers and ranchers throughout the state with educational opportunities and access to top experts and thought leaders. All events are open to the public.

South Dakota Farm Bureau is divided into 7 geographical districts. Each district is made up of counties in the respective area and is led by an elected district director who serves on the SDFB state Board of Directors. To view the counties in each district, view a map here.

SDFB District 5 Event

The economics and practices that make May calving a good fit for the environment will be discussed on May 23, 2024, at the Wedge Tent Ranch near Faith. The event begins at 9:30 a.m. and will include lunch followed by a pasture tour. Included will be strategies for making the transition and the chance to see the practice of May calving in action.
