2020 MSF Films contest winners!

Even though the full 2020 Maine Science Festival was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we were able to go forward with the judging and awards for our student film contests. The middle school contest requires students to make a mock movie trailer for that film about science that does not (yet) exist. The only thing that has to be in the trailer is science. For the high school category, the students create short films that include science.

We provide cash prizes to the top three entrants in each category ($500, $300, $100) and have created a playlist of the films on the MSF YouTube channel. The winners are:

High School

1st Place: Nhan, John, and William from Bangor High School, presentingC.H.N.O.P.S.: The Basic Elements of Life

2nd Place: Bryce and Tyler from Bangor High School, presentingThe Clone

3rd Place: Liam and Gavin from Bangor High School, presenting To Cure Cancer - A Short Film

Middle School

2nd Place: Olivia, Lolie, Meadow, and Perley from Tremont Consolidated School, presenting Save The Earth Y'all

Congratulations to all the students who won, and a giant MSF thank-you to all who participated!
