Parks & Rec joins Fairmount Park Conservancy to kick off 2024 Love Your Park Week at Stinger Square

What: Philadelphia Parks & Recreation and Fairmount Park Conservancy will kick off the week-long Love Your Park with elected officials, and community members at Stinger Square in Grays Ferry. This spring, there are over 110 parks hosting clean-up service days for Love Your Park Week 2024. The event runs Saturday, May 11, through Sunday, May 19. To lend a hand at one of the clean-ups, please register to volunteer today.

Parks & Rec, Fairmount Park Conservancy, Friends of Stinger Square, and volunteers will plant trees, collect leaves for compost, and clean up trash and litter at the signature site kickoff. The event will also feature a DJ, lunch for volunteers, activities for kids, and a speaking program featuring City and Conservancy officials as well as community partners. All tools and materials, including gloves, will be provided.

Note: During Love Your Park Week (May 11-19, 2024), more than 110 local volunteer groups will host cleanups throughout the city to prepare Philadelphia's parks for the busy spring and summer seasons. Members of the public are encouraged to sign up at the park of their choosing. Love Your Park Week will also feature free activities throughout the week focused on enjoying and exploring Philadelphia's parks, from movie nights to birding tours. Love Your Park Week is an annual celebration of Philadelphia's public parks, organized by partners Philadelphia Parks & Recreation, Fairmount Park Conservancy, and the Park Friends Network.
