National Police Week is May 15-21, 2022

In 1962, President Kennedy proclaimed May 15th, as National Peace Officers Memorial Day and the calendar week in which May 15 falls, as National Police Week. Established by a joint resolution of Congress in 1962, National Police Week pays special recognition to those law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty for the safety and protection of others. National Police Week is a collaborative effort of many organizations dedicated to honoring America's law enforcement community.

For generations, courageous men and women of our Nation's law enforcement community have dedicated their lives to protecting us in big cities, small towns, and suburban neighborhoods across America. Each morning, police officers pin on their shield and walk out the door to go to work, hoping they will come home safely. On Peace Officers Memorial Day and during Police Week, we express our gratitude for these selfless public servants who put themselves in harm's way to keep us safe and honor those who lost their lives in the line of duty.

Thank you Chief Rash, Sergeant Anderson, Officer Bentley, Officer Holliman, Officer Wai and Officer Davis for your selfless commitment to our community!
