County Encouraging Community to Take Part in 'Dark Sky Lights Out' Event Across Pinal County

Pinal County is encouraging residents to take part in a Dark Sky Lights Out event across Pinal County, as part of International Dark Sky Week, which takes place from April 2, 2024, through April 8, 2024.

On Wednesday, March 20, 2024, the Pinal County Board of Supervisors approved a proclamation adopting the week, as "International Dark Sky Week" in Pinal County.

On Monday, April 8th, for thirty minutes from 8:30 p.m. to 9 p.m., we encourage Pinal County residents to join us in observing a thirty-minute 'Dark Skies Lights Out' Event across Pinal County, turning off all unnecessary lighting indoors and outdoors, in order to reduce light pollution and to enjoy the beauty of the night sky and the wonders of our universe.

A number of other events are taking place across Pinal County both during and after International Dark Sky Week. View the calendar of events below, and visit pinal.gov/darkskies for more specific information on each event.
