Move, Play and Grow with Spring Recreation Classes

Posted: March 08, 2018

Registration is now open for dozens of classes and activities designed to get you moving, keep you thinking, and enjoy shared experiences with others. You'll find a complete listing in the spring 2018 edition of Go! Gaithersburg, the City's comprehensive guide to recreation classes, facility information, cultural arts, and other activities, available online and at all City facilities.

With programs for preschoolers, youth, teens, and adults, you'll discover an array of fitness, dance, aquatics, and special interest classes. Young naturalists are invited to explore the basics of year-round fruit and vegetable gardening with the Little Sprouts Gardening Club. Art and Architecture in the Animal World teaches youngsters about homes built by mammals, birds and insects. Take your yoga practice deeper with a specialty workshop, including Yoga: Flowing With Our Breath, Yoga: All About Backbends, and Yoga: Changing Our View.

Spring Break opportunities are also available. From weeklong camps and art intensive programs to a one day STEAM program and free admission to the Skate Park, there's something for everyone. Explore all of our spring break activities here.

When not taking a class, keep your workouts going at the Fitness Zone at the Activity Center at Bohrer Park and at the Fitness Center at the Benjamin Gaither Center for those 55 and older.

Art classes and workshops for children and adults, including painting, drawing, and glass fusing, are offered at the Arts Barn, Gaithersburg's premiere cultural arts facility. Registration for these classes is ongoing and takes place year 'round.

The Go! Gaithersburg Guide also includes a listing of facilities available to rent for birthday parties and other social occasions, a schedule of upcoming cultural arts programs and special events, after school opportunities for students, and information about the City's Skate Park, Miniature Golf Park, and Aquatic and Recreation Centers.

The City has launched an updated RecXpress online registration system, which features an improved mobile interface and the ability for customers to instantly sign up and register for a course. All users will need to create a new user account, even if you've registered online with us in the past. To get started, go to and click on Create an Account.
