Critical incident investigation underway after two critically injured - Hebersham

A critical incident investigation has been declared after an incident at home in Hebersham.

Shortly before 8.50am today (Friday 25 August 2023), emergency services responded to a home at Crawley Avenue, Hebersham, following reports of an assault.

Officers from Mount Druitt Police Area Command arrived to find a woman with an injury to her head.

Police attempted to speak to a man - known to the woman - before he allegedly suffered self-inflicted injuries.

The 30-year-old woman was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics and taken to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition.

The 29-year-old man was also treated by paramedics and taken to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition. He remains under police guard.

A crime scene has been established, with a critical incident team from North Shore Police Area Command investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The investigation will be subject to an independent review.
