Tenaya Way Closed At Craig Road Jan. 20 For Repaving

Lane Restrictions Also On Craig Road 4 A.M. To 4 P.M. Saturday

The city of Las Vegas will close Tenaya Way at Craig Road Saturday, Jan. 20, 2024, from 4 a.m. to 4 p.m. for roadwork. Craig Road in the vicinity of Tenaya Way will be restricted to one through lane eastbound and westbound. Drivers should expect delays. Milling and repaving operations will be conducted in the intersection as part of the current road overlay project. Access to the businesses and residential communities near the intersection will remain open.

Cheyenne Avenue and Lone Mountain Road are recommended as alternate routes for east- and westbound traffic; Buffalo Drive and Rainbow Boulevard are recommended for north- and southbound traffic.

Preliminary work was completed earlier, consisting of improvements to the sidewalk areas to meet federal Americans with Disabilities Act requirements, which included the reconstruction of concrete cross gutter, curbs and gutters. The current work consists of partial-depth pavement removal and reconstruction, installation of temporary traffic delineations and bike lanes.

Las Vegas Paving is the contractor. The city of Las Vegas is managing the project. The estimated cost of the work is $1.8 million, provided by the Federal Highway Administration and matched with Motor Vehicle Fuel Tax funds.
