EUROF: reiterates its support for Jean-Paul Delescaux, General Secretary of the Union Départementale CGT du Nord

The European Regional Office - WFTU, reiterates its support for Jean-Paul Delescaux, General Secretary of the Union Départementale CGT du Nord, who is to appear in court on March 28 in Lille, charged with "apology for terrorism" following his UD's call for a demonstration for a ceasefire in Gaza and for Peace in Palestine. Through Jean-Paul, all CGT unions in the Nord are under attack, and through Jean-Paul, all anti-imperialist and pacifist militants in the Nord are under attack. This trial has become the symbol of an authoritarian and militaristic drift by the French government, to criminalize trade union action and the fight for Peace.
