Residential Spring Cleanup

The city hosts a residential fall cleanup event at the Public Works Department facility, 607 Municipal Drive. The event is a non-hazardous waste drop-off for Leander water customers.

Bring ID

  • You must show two forms of identification - Please bring a copy of your City of Leander Utilities bill and your Texas driver license.
  • The same physical address must appear on both forms of ID.

Quick Tips

  • Bring items in their original containers and properly sealed.
  • NO commercial contractors.
  • DO NOT mix or consolidate items.
  • DO NOT leave items curbside.
  • Keep containers and items in the trunk or rear of your vehicle and away from passengers.
  • All items must be delivered to the Public Works address.

Accepted items (residential quantities only)

  • Automobile batteries, brush, furniture, lumber, motor oil, paper products, cardboard, scrap metal
  • Paper documents - onsite shredding available
  • Vehicle tires - Up to 20 inches only, no more than four, no rims.

NOT Accepted (any quantities)

  • Appliances (washers, water heaters, etc.)
  • Chemicals
  • Containers larger than five gallons
  • Dioxins or pesticides
  • Electronics (televisions, computers, etc.)
  • Explosives, ammunition or fireworks
  • Fencing or construction debris
  • Freon, gas or propane cylinders
  • Glass
  • Industrial or commercial waste
  • Mattresses or box springs
  • Medical or pharmaceutical waste
  • Narcotics
  • Paint liquids or cans

Vehicles NOT allowed:

  • Trailers longer than 12 feet
  • Cargo vans or box trucks

What about recycling?

To learn more about diverting your disposed items for recycling, please contact the Hutto Recycling Center at 512-846-2756 or go to the Williamson County Landfill website at williamsoncountylandfill.wm.com(link is external). Additional disposal fees may apply. The landfill is owned by Williamson County and operated by Waste Management.
