ICT and digital qualifications with removed funding approval

The Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) withdrew funding approval, for learners aged 16 and above, from qualifications:

• in the sector subject area (SSA) ICT (except essential digital skills qualifications)
• in other SSAs not linked to the application of digital skills for:
  • a specific occupational sector, or
  • a specific entry level job role

We withdrew funding for these qualifications:

• up to level 1 from August 2021 - this did not include functional skills qualifications (FSQs) in ICT
• at level 2 from August 2022

We withdrew funding for FSQs in ICT at entry level and level 1 from August 2023.
