Units Respond to a Fire at the Marina

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX - At approximately 12:30 p.m., the Corpus Christi Fire Department (CCFD) and the Port of Corpus Christi responded to a fire at the marina located near the 200 block of South Shoreline at the Cooper's Alley L-Head after a shrimp boat caught fire.

Fire Fighters from CCFD and the Port of Corpus Christi quickly contained the fire. The vessel had submerged, causing fuel and oil to leak into the marina. Booms have been deployed to contain the spill while fuel and oil are being extracted from the water.

Several entities, including the Coast Guard, Corpus Christi Fire Department, the General Land Office, and the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, are working at the scene.

No injuries were reported, and no community action is required at this time.
