Halliburton Multi-Chem Opens Permian Laboratory

May 23, 2023 - Halliburton today announced it opened a regional laboratory in Odessa, Texas, to serve specialty chemical provider Multi-Chem's customers in the Permian Basin region. The facility includes a team of highly trained scientists and lab personnel who use the latest instrumentation to analyze oilfield samples and deliver data-driven insights to technical and field teams.

"This investment is aligned with our efforts to maximize asset value for our customers," said Miguel Gonzalez, vice president, Halliburton Multi-Chem. "Analytics from the lab are overlaid with operational and modeling data for our customers' assets. This in-depth, highly technical picture gives our analytical experts, field personnel, and customers easily accessible insights necessary to implement, optimize, and continuously improve asset performance."

"In the Permian, if a midstream operator needs to report internal corrosion data or a production operator is facing oil and water quality challenges, this lab absolutely advances our ability to provide support," said Jacob Hardy, North America Land region manager. "We are also working to link this lab system with customers' databases to enhance insights, assess risks, and drive program performance."

Multi-Chem's APX™ digital platform provides a secure, cloud-based system for operators and Multi-Chem personnel to interact with analytical and operational data to drive program performance. Critical insights, such as metal loss and bacteria trending, complete oil and water analysis, and residuals measurement are visualized and flagged in APX.
