Milk and Milk Products, January 2023


Since reliable data/information could not be obtained from the regions affected by the earthquake disaster, temporary applications were made in the statistical production processes. Details about the applications are in the 'Metadata' section.

Milk collected by integrated dairies was 873 thousand 974 tonnes

The amount of cow's milk collected by dairy enterprises increased by 4.4% in January compared with the same month of the previous year.

In January, compared with the same month of the previous year, cheese production from cow's milk increased by 17.2% drink made of yoghurt (ayran) production increased by 13.1%, drinking milk production increased by 9.3% and yoghurt production increased by 5.8%, butter production decreased by 17.3%.


The amount of cow's milk collected by dairies, which was 795 thousand 383 tons in the previous month, increased by 9.9% and became 873 thousand 974 tons in January.

Drinking milk production, which was 134 thousand 216 tons in the previous month, increased by 8.1% and became 145 thousand 104 tons in January.

Statistics in this bulletin are obtained from a monthly survey applied to all integrated milk and milk product (dairy) enterprises that use raw milk as an input. Establishments that make ice cream and milk-based desserts are excluded.
