City to Hold Public Hearing for Housing and Community Development One-Year Action Plan

SAVANNAH - The City of Savannah will host a public hearing to discuss the development of Savannah's Housing and Community Development FY2025 One-Year Action Plan on Wednesday May 8 at the Coastal Georgia Center Auditorium.

City Departments will discuss current goals, objectives, strategies, and priorities for spending approximately $3.3 million in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) and HOME Investment Partnership funds in 2025.

Additionally, the Department of Human Services will hold a work session for ESG and CDBG grant applicants on Thursday, May 9 at 2 p.m. at the Coastal Georgia Center Auditorium. All applications are due no later than Monday, June 20 at 5 p.m.

The CDBG program provides annual grants on a formula basis to states, cities, and counties to develop viable urban communities by providing decent housing and a suitable living environment, and by expanding economic opportunities, principally for low- and moderate-income persons. The 2025 CDBG Public Service activities will be geared toward reducing poverty and to help low-income individuals and families regain and retain self-sufficiency.
