Subject to AS 38.05.850, the Northern Regional Land Office has received an application for the following:

GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION: The easements proposed by the applicant are mainly located along the Richardson Highway between Fairbanks and Tok. Two easements are on state lands across the Delta River from Delta Junction. There are two ice road crossings proposed in the applications.

REQUESTED ACTIVITY: The Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Division of Mining, Land and Water (DMLW), Northern Regional Lands Office (NRO) has received applications for public access easements from the Division of Forestry and Fire Protection (DOF) for multiple existing forestry roads in the Fairbanks/Delta area. The purpose of the proposed easements is to provide access to timber resources and assist in wildland fire management. The applicant has requested seven easements of varying lengths, 100 feet wide, and varying acres in size.

REQUESTED TERM: In Perpetuity

DEADLINE FOR COMMENTS: May 6, 2024

The public is invited to comment on this activity. The purpose of this notice is to gather input before a decision is made on this activity. To ensure consideration, written comments must be received by the Division of Mining, Land and Water at 3700 Airport Way, Fairbanks, AK 99709 on or before 5:00 p.m. on the date noted above. After review and adjudication, we may issue an authorization with stipulations for the activity. The activity may be modified during the review and adjudication process.
