Santa Rosa County Launches RISE Internship Program for Summer 2024

The Santa Rosa County Board of County Commissioners is excited to offer the R.I.S.E - Readiness Internship for Skills and Experience programthis summer, from Mon., June 3 to Fri., Aug. 2. The internship is open to all residents of Santa Rosa County aged between 16 and 20 years old. To qualify, students must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher, be enrolled in a high school or GED program, or have graduated within the current year.

The program will include several departments such as Blackwater Soil Conservation, Community Housing Program, County Administration, County Engineer, Economic Development, Emergency Management, Environmental, Grants, Human Resources, Information Technology, Library Services, Office of Management & Budget, Parks, Property Appraiser, Public Information Office, Road & Bridge, Sheriff's Office, and Tourist Development.

The eight-week program is designed to motivate and empower future leaders, provide opportunities to explore various career paths and develop essential skills while contributing to the progress of the county. Interns will earn $14 per hour and work a maximum of 30 hours, or four days per week. Training will also be provided on money management, resume writing, and interviewing.
