The Gibraltar Financial Services Commission ("GFSC") is issuing a warning regarding the website http://brave-exchange.com/. The website claims to offer services in relation to Distributed Ledger Technology ("DLT") as well as cryptocurrency exchange services. The provision of services surrounding DLT is a regulated activity requiring authorisation from the GFSC and exchange of cryptocurrency is a registered activity requiring registration with the GFSC for AML/CFT Supervision.

This website http://brave-exchange.com/ is not authorised or registered with the GFSC and there are no applications pending for authorisation or registration. Furthermore, there are no active companies registered in Gibraltar with the name 'Brave-exchange' or similar. In addition, the website does not have permission to use the GFSC's intellectual property.

We understand that this website may be issuing certificates such as the example below to users of the site:

This certificate has not been issued by the GFSC. Furthermore, the GFSC do not issue this type of certificate to authorised firms in any instance.

How to protect yourself

The GFSC strongly advises consumers to liaise with financial companies which are authorised by the GFSC and can be found on the GFSC's Regulated Entities Register. If a company does not appear on the Register but claims it does, contact the GFSC Regulatory Investigations team on +350 222 59050.
