President Vahagn Khachaturyan attended the event dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the national hero of the Yezidi people Jangir Agha

President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan, along with President of the National Assembly Alen Simonyan, attended the jubilee event dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the national hero of the Yezidi people Jangir Agha.

During the years of the Armenian Genocide, the Yazidi military commander ensured the safe transportation of many Armenian and Yazidi refugees to Eastern Armenia. In 1918, with his 1500 horsemen, he took an active part in the battles of Sardarabad and Bash Abaran.
