Slovenia allocates additional funds for humanitarian aid to Ukrainian families ahead of winter

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has earmarked an additional 100,000 euros for humanitarian aid to Ukraine to help people survive the approaching harsh winter, as the devastating effects of the war continue.

The humanitarian situation in Ukraine is extremely difficult after critical infrastructure has been destroyed by Russia. Repeated attacks on civilian infrastructure have left millions of people without access to food and drinking water, heating, electricity and other necessities of life. The project led by Caritas Slovenia, our strategic humanitarian partner, will make available additional funds to purchase and transport heaters, warm blankets and food parcels for 800 Ukrainian families.

Slovenia continues to help the Ukrainian people by supporting humanitarian aid projects. Since the beginning of the Russian military aggression against Ukraine, we have provided over 4 million euros in humanitarian aid, including through international organisations, material aid and bilateral projects.
