Temporary Closure of South Mason Street for Tree Removal

ARROYO GRANDE, CALIFORNIA - On October 14, 2022, the City of Arroyo Grande will temporarily close South Mason Street, from East Branch Street to Nelson Street from 7:00am to 5:00pm. The reason for the street closure is to allow for the removal of a hazardous tree located at Arroyo Grande City Hall.

The condition of a multi-trunk tree located at the southwest corner of the City Hall property has shown signs of declining health since 2019. The City Arborist confirmed with contractor/certified arborists that the tree must be removed due to the tree's continuous decline in condition, loss of structural integrity, and the risk to pedestrians, City Hall staff, and the City Hall building. With this information, the Public Works Director identified the tree for removal and the closure of South Mason Street will facilitate this in a safe and efficient manner.

If you have general questions about the street closure, please call Bill Robeson, Assistant City Manager/Public Works Director, at (805) 473-5466 or [email protected].
