05.11.2020 (11:07)

On the eve of their professional holiday - the Day of the Military Sout - the servicemen of the reconnaissance units of the Northern Fleet Marine Brigade conducted a mountain training exercise, during which they destroyed the base of the mock terrorists.

The exercise took place at a mountain training ground in the village of Sputnik in the Murmansk region, which was created by the forces of the marines three years ago.

Marine scouts in mountain gear with standard weapons practiced three training points: a hinged crossing over an impassable area (a cliff or a mountain river), areas of free climbing on a rock, descent and ascent along mountainous terrain.

While practicing tactical actions in mountainous and wooded areas, the reconnaissance group organized a fire raid on a conditional base of illegal armed formations.

One of the main tasks of mountain training for reconnaissance of marines and motorized rifle formations of the Northern Fleet is to train servicemen in the conduct of military operations in the mountains at any time of the year, day and night.

The mountain training ground of the Marine Corps in the Murmansk region is the northernmost training base for mountain training of military personnel of special forces. It is used to master the technique of overcoming mountain obstacles, to acquire skills for the effective use of standard weapons on mountainous terrain, as well as to strengthen the moral and psychological qualities and endurance of military personnel.
