ASCO 2021: MSK Experts Featured at the American Society for Clinical Oncology Annual Meeting

Thousands of oncology experts from around the world will tune in from June 4 to June 8 for the virtual 2021 American Society for Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Annual Meeting. The 2021 ASCO Annual Meeting will bring together one of the largest, most diverse audiences in oncology and provide engaging broadcast and on-demand presentations of the latest cutting-edge research. The theme of this year's meeting is Equity: Every Patient. Every Day. Everywhere. Discussions during the meeting will help identify ways to ensure that all patients have access to and benefit from the latest cancer advances and high-quality cancer care.

Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) physicians and scientists are involved in notable research to be presented at the meeting and are available to comment on topics including prostate cancer, immunotherapy, drug development, sarcoma, colorectal cancer, lung cancer, genetics, and more. Several MSK experts will be taking part in high-profile presentations:

  • Michael J. Morris, MD, will present findings from thephase III VISION trial, a transformative approach to treating metastatic prostate cancer with targeted radioligand therapy during the meeting's plenary session on Saturday, June 5, at 1:00 pm.
  • Jedd Wolchok, MD, PhD, FASCO, will present data about six-and-a-half year outcomes for nivolumab in combination with ipilimumab in patients with advanced melanoma on Sunday, June 6, at 8:00 am.
  • Alison Schram, MD,will present data about a proof-of-concept trial for NRG1 fusion-positive cancers in pancreatic cancers on Friday, June 4, at 11:00 am.
  • Sandra D'Angelo, MD, will present findings from the phase II SPEARHEAD-1 trial in patients with advanced synovial sarcoma or myxoid/round cell liposarcoma on Friday, June 4, at 11:30 am.

In addition to the exciting work from MSK being presented, MSK medical oncologists David Ilson, MD, PhD, and William Tap, MD, have been named Fellows of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (FASCO). The FASCO distinction recognizes ASCO members for their extraordinary volunteer service, dedication, and commitment to ASCO.
