The Flexible Transportation Fund was established by the 68th Legislative Assembly to complement the Federal Aid Highway Program and further support an interconnected transportation system in North Dakota. The Engineering Department submitted multiple applications for this program and has been awarded 1.4 million dollars for the reconstruction of NP Avenue between 8th Street and Broadway in 2025.

The Fargo Fire Department, in cooperation with The City of Fargo's Public Works Department, will be conducting hydrant flushing and inspections beginning on Tuesday, April 16. Each year, City staff members flush over 7,500 hydrants. If residents experience water discoloration, they are encouraged to let the water run for a few minutes to clear any iron oxide from the system. If residents notice rust deposits on laundry, they can call 701.241.1469 to receive a packet of detergent to remove the rust from clothing.

Area gardeners are invited to learn how to grow plants for pollinator and wildlife habitats at the Prairie Garden Workshop event on Wednesday, April 17, at 6:30 p.m. at the downtown Main Library. Free seed packets will be distributed as part of the event.

A Craft Supply Swap is scheduled for Saturday, April 20, from noon to 4 p.m. at the Main Library. Residents who donate craft items in advance will get an early entry ticket for the swap. Details are available on the library's website.

North Dakota Poet Denise Lajimodiere (Lah-jim-o-deer) will give a reading and a talk about her new children's book "Josie Dances" on Monday, April 29, at 6 p.m. at the Main Library. As an enrolled citizen of the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa, Lajimodiere (Lah-jim-o-deer) will also include a cultural show-and-tell as part of her presentation.

In January of 2024, The City of Fargo invited middle and high school students to submit original artwork with the chance for their design to be featured on a local MATBUS bus. Students were encouraged to create designs with the theme of environmental stewardship and climate resiliency. This call for art submissions was a collaborative effort of the Sustainability and Resiliency Committee, Fargo Youth Initiative, and Arts and Culture Commission. The production and installation of the bus wrap will be made possible by using renewable energy revenues generated through the Solid Waste Utility. All 20 submissions of student artwork are currently on display on the first floor of City Hall. The highest‐scoring submission belonged to seventh-grader Kaylee Trana. We now have a short video where Kaylee discusses her inspiration behind her winning design.
