Inclusion of seventeen succulent plant species and one succulent plant genus in appendix III of the convention on international trade in endangered species of wild Fauna and Flora

NATIONAL ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT: BIODIVERSITY ACT, 2004 (ACT NO. 10 OF 2004)

INCLUSION OF SEVENTEEN SUCCULENT PLANT SPECIES AND ONE SUCCULENT PLANT GENUS IN APPENDIX III OF THE CONVENTION ON INTERNATIONAL TRADE IN ENDANGERED SPECIES OF WILD FAUNA AND FLORA

The Minister of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment, Ms Barbara Creecy, hereby informs the public of submission of a notice for the inclusion or listing of seventeen succulent plant species and one succulent plant genus in Appendix III of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) to the Secretariat of CITES. The species, which include all parts and derivatives thereof, are listed below:

(a) Adenia spinosa

(b) Ceraria pygmaea (Portulacaria pygmaea)

(c) Conophytum (entire genus)

(d) Mestoklema tuberosum

(e) Monsonia herrei (Sarcocaulon herrei)

(f) Monsonia multifida (Sarcocaulon multifidum)

(g) Monsonia patersonii (Sarcocaulon patersonii)

(h) Othonna armaina

(i) Othonna cacalioides

(j) Othonna clavifolia (Crassothonna clavifolia)

(k) Othonna euphorbioides

(l) Othonna retrorsa

(m) Pelargonium crassicaule

(n) Pelargonium triste

(o) Raphionacme zeyheri

(p) Tylecodon nolteei

(q) Tylecodon bodleyae

(r) Tylecodon reticulatus
