About Summer with SAPL for Kids and Families

Children can visit any San Antonio Public Library location to pick out a brand-new book to start off their summer of reading fun, while supplies last. Families can also pick up a Paleta Goal Card to share what they hope to accomplish at the Library this summer such as reading or listening to books, learning a new skill, or attending library programs. Once filled out, patrons can add their paleta goal card to the display at their branch library so it can be displayed for everyone to see. Children are also encouraged to add to the community reading display at their library to see how much they and their neighbors have been reading. Visit guides.mysapl.org/summer/kids for more information.

About Teen Summer

High-school-aged teens are invited to take charge of their summer experience at the Library through teen-led activities ranging from music production, book exploration, tech discovery, art creation, video gaming, and more! Teens can pick up a free summer t-shirt at any library location beginning June 1, while supplies last. The artwork for the t-shirt was designed by teen artist Percy Williams. Free teen activities will take place daily at the Teen Library at Central Library and online via the @210teenlibrary Discord server. Free weekly teen activities will take place at all library locations. Teens can earn volunteer service hours by leading high-interest library activities for peers in their community. Visit guides.mysapl.org/summer/teens for details.

Summer with SAPL is also for adults!

Adults can visit any SAPL location to get a stylus pen, while supplies last, and a Paleta Goal Card. Use the Goal Tracker to record your summer goal and track your progress. Goals could include reading or listening to books, participating in library activities, or participating in activities that the library has inspired you to learn more about. Those who would like to participate in the Mayor's Summer Reading Club will receive a Library List Bookmark. All participants are free to set their own goals. Visit guides.mysapl.org/summer/adults to learn more.
