Minister of Health of Serbia, Prof. Dr. Danica Grujičić visited the General Hospital, the Covid Hospital and the Health Center in Kruševac, which she announced will be united in the coming period in order to work more efficiently, as well as that she will propose to the Government of Serbia that the Covid Hospital belong to this center.

The minister pointed out that the state's position is to reconstruct maternity hospitals first. "What we will reorganize first are the maternity hospitals. It is the state's position that all maternity hospitals in Serbia that are not yet constructed, must be reconstructed as soon as possible. Colleagues are putting a lot of effort into mastering new techniques, learning new examinations and ultrasound work. I was especially happy about that in pediatrics," said Dr. Grujicic. The minister pointed out that the entire Rasin district comes to the hospital in Kruševac and that the region should have a better health complex. As a good example, she singled out the oncology day hospital, its equipment and attitude towards patients, and praised colleagues from maxillofacial surgery for the number of operations they perform, as well as orthopedists who are ready to eliminate the short waiting lists that currently exist.

"The wards are full, a large number of patients come for examinations, we must create comfort for patients who depend on the hospital", said Prof. Grujičić also pointed out that an increase in the number of beds in day hospitals is being considered, because the plan is to have more short hospitalizations and to provide transportation of patients through the RFZO. The minister explained that the task of the hospital's management is to rationalize and determine where the occupancy of beds is greater than 50 percent and where it is less, how many specialists are burdened with examinations, and to complete everything possible at the secondary level of the health system. "We are urgently moving towards digitalization, as the Institute of Oncology and Radiology has done with the general hospitals in Valjevo, Šabac, Kladovo and Čačak, which are online consultations," said Dr. Grujičić and explained that in this way patients do not have to travel to tertiary healthcare facilities. centers, which means especially for those suffering from oncological diseases. "When you have magnetic resonance imaging, two scanners and the most modern equipment, it is not necessary to walk patients, and Kruševac has an excellent oncology service and I would like them to continue working in the same way", concluded the Minister of Health.

Dr. Vesna Stević Gajić, director of the General Hospital in Kruševac, assessed that the renovation of the angio room, which is more than 20 years old, is most needed at the moment, even though it is still functioning well as perhaps the brightest spot in the work of the General Hospital in Kruševac.
