Several years ago, my family decided that the best option for our kids' education was to homeschool. Homeschooling has been a tremendous gift for us. It's allowed my kids to travel with me to Washington, D.C. and experience history firsthand. I'm grateful every day that we were able to make that choice.
And that's the point: it was our choice. Every parent has the right to make decisions about their child's education. Recent attempts by the left and their partners in the teachers' unions to take that right away have left me disgusted as both a father and a lawmaker.
That's why I've cosponsored a bill called the Parental Bill of Rights Act. This legislation would ensure that parents have a say in their child's education. Specifically, it would outline these 5 rights:
It's sad that a bill like this is necessary, but at a time when the Biden Administration is weaponizing the Department of Justice to target parents at school board meetings, it's clear that Congress needs to stand up for kids and their families.
