City of South Fulton Fire and Rescue Prepares for Enhanced Emergency Response with State-of-the-Art Transport Units

Improving its emergency response capabilities, the City of South Fulton Fire and Rescue is gearing up to roll out the first of three of cutting-edge transport capable units starting May 2024. As part of the Fiscal Year 2024 Medical Emergency Services expansion plan, the department is set to enhance its level of service to the community by adding additional personnel and upgrading from EMT Basic to EMT Advanced.

Today marked a significant milestone in this initiative as the rescue team engaged in intensive training sessions on the innovative power-lift system integrated into these state-of-the-art units. The power-lift, operable with a simple push of a button, aims to safeguard the staff during patient transport, ensuring their well-being while enroute to medical facilities.

"These units represent the pinnacle of modern emergency response technology," remarked Chief Chad Jones. "Our training today underscores our commitment to not only providing exceptional care to our citizens but also prioritizing the safety and welfare of our personnel."

Scheduled for launch in May 2024, the first of three transport capable units will soon be operational, with the subsequent units to follow suit. To ensure seamless integration and proficiency in utilizing these advanced resources, the department has initiated collaborations with specialized training groups.
