House Republicans Must Denounce Racist “Replacement” Conspiracy And Stop Promoting It

The Buffalo mass shooter, who targeted and killed Black people, listed the "great replacement" theory in his disgusting manifesto, the conspiracy that has inspired white nationalists to commit violent acts around the world.

Number three House Republican Elise Stefanik has herself promoted the racist and dangerous theory in campaign ads on Facebook and Stefanik's endorsed dozens of House Republicans like Tom Kean Jr. (NJ-07), Lisa Scheller (PA-07), Karoline Leavitt (NH-01) and Nicole Malliotakis (NY-11) who must now answer whether they share her views.

Stefanik's not alone in peddling the hateful rhetoric - Rep. Scott Perry (PA-10) promoted the racist theory in a committee hearing last year and Yvette Herrell (NM-02) made claims this summer that the "American way" could be diluted. The vile conspiracy theories that once caused Republicans to force Steve King out of their party are now embraced with open arms.

DCCC Spokesperson Chris Taylor

"Kevin McCarthy, Tom Emmer, Elise Stefanik, and House Republicans must denounce and stop promoting the racist replacement conspiracy that inspired the targeted killing of Black people in Buffalo. Democracy and white supremacy cannot coexist - House Republicans should act like they know it."
