Building (Digital) 'Forts in Their Hearts': A Digital Humanities Exploration of the Anglo-Cherokee War

Digital Humanities Collaborative Tuesday April 2, 2024

Please join us for a presentation of new research from the Digital Humanities Collaborative faculty fellow, Dr. Jessica Wallace, Associate Professor of History on April 9, 5 - 6 p.m., in the Pat Peterson Museum Education Room in Russell Library.

This digital humanities project focuses on telling the story of the Anglo-Cherokee War through digital means, particularly focusing on its social networks, geographic spaces, and individual participants that formed intertwined relationships that drove the Anglo-Cherokee alliance in the 18th century and fostered its temporary breakdown. The lecture also discusses the process of turning traditional research into a digital project, especially the different questions and lines of inquiry that arise from exploring historical research from the perspective of a digital humanities project.

Registration is requested.

Hosted by the Digital Humanities Collaborative. Co-organized by the Center for Teaching and Learning.
