HOME-ARP Allocation Plan Released and Accepting Public Comment Through February 28

The City of Roanoke has released an Allocation Plan for the use of American Rescue Plan Act funds tied to HUD's HOME Investment Partnership Grant Program. The US Department of Housing and Urban Development has allocated $2.4 million in HOME-ARP funds upon submission of the Allocation Plan to HUD. Submission of the Allocation Plan is due in March after receiving public comment. These funds are directed to address housing and stabilization support services for Roanoke's homeless and at-risk populations at 30% or less of area median income.

The HOME-ARP Allocation Plan, along with the supporting housing assessment/gap analysis study, is available for public inspection:

or at the Roanoke City Clerk's Office and Office of Community Development in the Noel C. Taylor Municipal Building, the Belmont Branch of Roanoke Public Libraries and on the City's website. Public comments are accepted through February 28 to Keith Holland, Community Resources Administrator at [email protected] and will be included in the final Allocation Plan to be submitted to HUD prior to the March 31 deadline.

Roanoke City Council will hold a public hearing on the matter on Tuesday, February 21, 2023, beginning at 7:00 PM in the Council Chambers of the Municipal Building.
