Clarksville Mayor Joe Pitts has proclaimed the week of May 5-11, 2024, as Professional Municipal Clerks Week in the City of Clarksville.

The Office of the Professional Municipal Clerk is a time-honored and vital part of local government that exists worldwide.

This office provides the professional link between citizens, local governing bodies and agencies of government at other levels. The Clerks are pledged to neutrality and impartiality, rendering equal service to everyone.

They also serve as the information center on functions of local government and community.

In the proclamation, Mayor Pitts extends special appreciation to Clarksville's Professional Municipal Clerk, Lisa Canfield, and Deputy Clerk, Stephanie Jenkins, "for the vital services they perform and their exemplary dedication to the communities they represent."
